Little houses and 3d cards

Thanks to all the ladies who came to the workshop yesterday.  We had a great time making little houses and 3d Christmas cards and it was really nice to see some new faces too. I think our little community is growing steadily.

I’m hoping to be able to put some photo’s in the gallery soon of the advent calendars which had to be finished at home due to it being a particularly big project. Well done to Rosie for finishing hers at 11:pm on 30th November!

We already have dates for 2012 which I’ll post in the calendar page soon so you can put them in your diary.  We’ve lots of exciting projects lined up for next year so  you’ll want to keep checking back to see what’s on offer.

I’ll be adding some instruction sheets in the next couple of days too for the projects we’ve covered so far, but at the moment I’m having a bit of trouble uploading for some reason. Hopefully I’ll get that sorted soon.

I’ve also added a Facebook page which will be a good place to chat inbetween workshops, ask and answer questions and for anyone to upload pictures of projects too.

I hope everyone has a happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Christmas projects.

The next workshop will take place on the 10th December and I’ll be demonstrating how to make these super cute houses to hang on the Christmas tree and how to make a 3D Christmas card.

If you want to take part in the workshop you’ll need to bring the following supplies;

For the Christmas card

  • Coloured card or a pack of blank greetings cards.  These can be found in Zeeman and Hema  in Mersch, Beim Jeanne on Mersch high street, Ernster, Ava or Bastelkiste.
  • Decorative paper as a backing
  • Christmas stamps, stickers or toppers.  Cactus Belle Etoile has some lovely ones at the moment and Schlecker is selling small packs of Christmas toppers for 1.29€ as well as Zeeman and Hema
  • Double sided tape  or a dry glue like Pritt and some 3D foam pads
  • Colouring pens or pencils.

For the little houses

  • Card for the main part of the house, a piece of card for the base (cereal box is ok) and I used corrugated card for the roof
  • Decorative paper or paint (or both)
  • Ruler, pencil
  • Glue and double sided tape
  • Ribbon
  • Glitter and pretty embellishments.
  • I’ve also just found a small bag of fake snow in Zeeman for .79 which I didn’t use but intend to try it out ;)

Any questions as usual don’t hesitate to contact me or Lena.

Hope to see you there.

Pictures from the Advent calendar workshop

Thanks to everyone who came to the Advent Calendar workshop.  It was a big task with lots of cutting of little boxes so that’s why there’s a lack of finished creations to show you in the gallery but I have a feeling the project will keep everyone busy for the next couple of weekends in the run up to December 1st.

I have, however got some photo’s from the afternoon to show everyone hard at work.

The next meeting will be on December 10th when we’ll be making Christmas cards in 3D and some little Christmas houses.

Advent Calendar workshop

I know it’s still only the middle of October and we haven’t properly celebrated Halloween yet but we have to get into the Christmas mood soon.  It’s creeping into the shops already so we’re going to embrace it for our next meeting on 12th November.

It’ll be slightly later than usual due to the half term holiday and I’m posting this early as we’ll have a bit of work to do before we get together.

As you can see, the workshop is an Advent Calendar made from little boxes, decorated and stuck together and ready to hold chocolates or little surprises.

It’ll be a big job so in the instruction sheets section there’s a template for the little boxes for you to get a head start.  Just click on the link to open the file and print out.  If you plan to come to the meeting it would be advisable to cut your boxes out at home first to save time later, don’t worry about putting them together the cutting out is enough.  I’ve also included a sheet of numbers to print out if you want to use them.

Below is a list of supplies you’ll need.

  • For 24 little boxes you’ll need 3 sheets of card 50 x 70cm found in Cactus, Ava, Ernster or any of the good craft stores.
  • Some Christmas paper to cover your boxes. Maybe a roll of wrapping paper would be ideal for this.
  • Some Christmas stamps, stickers, paper, ribbons etc to decorate the fronts.  I also added some family Christmas photographs to fit onto my 5 x 5cm box fronts.
  • Strong glue or double sided tape.
  • A set of numbers from 1 to 24 – a sheet to download is also provided.

I think that’s about it. If you click on the image above you’ll be able to see a bigger view of it to get an idea of what we’ll be doing.

I hope to see you there.

Maze book workshop

Boy did the summer go fast! Already it’ll be back to school time and we’ll be thinking about the Autumn term.

Especially so here at Mozaik Scrappers where we’ll be introducing some new workshops and demonstrations and organizing a stand at the Kehlen Christmas market, but more on that later.

For now I’d like to tell you about the new workshop which will be held on Saturday 1st October at the Keispelt Creche as usual, 2pm onwards.

We’ll be making a maze book which is extreemly cute, all cleverly folded from one piece of paper and small enough to slip into a bag or pocket.

Here are a couple of pictures to hopefully inspire you.

To participate in this workshop you’ll need;

A piece of sturdy paper or thin card, at least 30cm x 30cm – any smaller and your book pages will be too small to work with.

Some pretty papers, embellishments etc

and your usual kit, glue, ruler, pencil, knife or scissors etc

For any more information you can contact us. See you there.

Happy Summer Holidays Mosaik Scrappers

Sadly, last saturday was the last meeting before the summer holidays start.  Thank you to everyone who came and made it special.

I think everyone managed to finish their canvases and it was so interesting to see different styles and ideas.

I hope next term will be as well received as this when we meet again in October.

Happy Holidays everyone.
